INSPIRATION THROUGH CRAFT                         Saturday 26th March, 11am-3pm 

STITCH IT FOR DEMENTIA: CARE CRAFTIVISM

Holy Trinity Church Hall, Argyle Street, Berrima, on view from 26 March to 1st April (excluding Wed 30th) 

This remarkable exhibition of work by carers of people living with dementia will be opened by Caroline Baum, NSW Ambassador for the Older Women’s Network, on Saturday 26th, followed by a CRAFT WORKSHOP, led by visual artist, Michele Elliot. Everyone can get involved, you don’t need to be a craft person! 

This is a Covid safe event. It is FREE but please REGISTER in advance if possible so we can plan well (but if you decide to come at the last minute, please do!).

OPENING OF CHARLIE'S PLACE

Holy Trinity Church Hall, Argyle Street, Berrima is where you will find 'Charlie's Place' - where carers and families throughout the Southern Highlands can find information and support on living well with dementia. Join us to celebrate this initiative, to be launched by Sue Hayward, a staunch advocate for local communities. The inspiring Nell Hawe will be the guest speaker.

BOOK LAUNCH: Behind Closed Doors: One Family's Journey Through the Australian Aged Care System

This insightful book by local author, Sarah Wallace, will be launched by academic and activist, Linda Steele. Linda shares Sarah's passion for change in our aged care system - see why in Sarah's book.

INSPIRATION THROUGH THEATRE              Wednesday 30th March, 11am-12.30pm 

“NOT DEAD YET! say these 60 to 90 year old women who have been activists for change their entire lives. Now they are Ageing Activists! This new show is a sharp, honest, poignant and funny look at when you are OLD and the way society pigeonholes older women!  Yes, we are OLD and we OWN it! Come with them for a fabulous death-defying ride.
